Bill Engvall is one of the top comedians today and among the busiest. In addition to his string role in TBS's THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW, he hosts one of the top rated shows on CMT, Country Fried Home Videos. He recently filmed the movie Bait Shop, co-string Billy Ray Cyrus, to be released on DVD this summer. He recently stred in the movie Delta Fce, with Lry the Cable Guy and D.J. Qualls.

Prior to his big screen debut, Engvall was one of the sts of the sketch comedy show, Blue Coll TV on The WB. He also shot a special for The WB called Mobile Home Disasters, which helped propel the network to one of its best Thursday nights of the season.

Engvall's roster of enormously popul comedy specials includes Blue Coll Comedy Tour, The Movie, Blue Coll Comedy Tour Rides Again and Blue Coll Comedy Tour - One For The Road. Along with his Blue Coll performances, Engvall also has two solo specials that aired on Comedy Central: 15° Off Cool and Here's Your Sign, Live. The DVD of the latter special has been certified multi-platinum.

Engvall is also a platinum recording tist. His first album, Here's Your Sign, has been certified platinum and held the #1 position on the Billbod Comedy Cht for 15 straight weeks. It went on to peak at #5 on Billbod's Current Country Album Cht and reached the Top 50 on Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart. He also collaborated with musician Travis Tritt on a video also entitled Here's Your Sign. The recording of the song became the most requested single on country radio. In 1997, Engvall won the Best Selling Comedy Album awd at the annual NM convention, outselling albums by Chris Rock and Adam Sandler. His second CD, Dorkfish, was certified gold and had the honor of being ranked #1 on Billbod's Comedy Cht, surpassing Jerry Seinfeld's album. All of his subsequent comedy album releases debuted at #1 on the Billbod Comedy Cht, including his latest release, 15° Off Cool.

A native of Galveston, Texas, Engvall moved to Dallas and was working as a disc jockey with plans of becoming of a teacher. While in a nightclub one evening, he decided to try his hand at stand-up comedy and quickly found that making people laugh was truly his forte. Soon he was co-string in A Pair of Jokers, with Rosie O"Donnell, followed by a hosting gig for A&E's Evening at the Improv and several appeances on both The Tonight Show and the The Late Show with David Letterman. In 1992, he won the American Comedy Awd for Best Male Stand-up Comedian. After appeing in episodes of Designing Women, he went on to portray Buck Overton on the sitcom Delta, string Delta Burke, thus solidifying his status as a sought-after comic. He also stred in the NBC series The Jeff Foxworthy Show, in which he played Foxworthy's best friend.

Engvall resides in Southern California with his wife and two children. His autobiography, Bill Engvall - Just A Guy, was published in May 2007.
