With a resounding Wham!, George Michael burst onto the pop-music scene with his buddy Andrew Ridgeley in 1982. For the next four years, the Wham! duo scored hit after hit. With stunning good looks that made women (and lots of men, too) coo-coo for Whams! Coaco-puffs, George Michael quickly emerged as the more radio-ready singer-songwriter and left for a hugely successful solo career.

George Michael's 1987 debut Faith, set the charts ablaze, selling more than seven million copies. Tailor-made for MTVs maddening grip on record success, George Michael sexed up TV screens and airwaves from coast to mother-truckin' coast. George Michael was

George Michael's follow-up album, Listen Without Prejudice, Vol. 1, then sold a million copies and produced two Top Ten hits. In 1992 George Michael's song "Too Funky," reached the Billboard Top 20.

In 1996, George Michael released Older, an ode to his longtime fans and supporters. In 1998, after some sensational headlines, George Michael finally revealed his homosexuality to the public.

A year later in 1999, George Michael released Songs From the Last Century. The album is a collection of covers of George Michael's most beloved personal favorite songs.

Ladies & Gentlemen: The Best of George Michael was released in 1998. Surprisingly, the album contained a large number of compilation tracks and duets that hadn't previously been released, including a duet with Aretha Franklin, "I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)"; "Desafinado", with Brazilian legend Astrud Gilberto; and the Elton John duet "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me"
