Grouplove Biography
The American indie rock band known as Grouplove was established in 2009 by founding members Ryan Rabin, Sean Gadd, Christian Zucconi, and Hannah Hooper. The five musicians were friends when they decided to combine their musical talents and come together to create Grouplove. Rabin, already an accomplished drummer when the group convened, grew up highly influenced by his father, Trevor Rabin, former guitarist for the band Yes. He would go on to serve as producer for much of Grouplove’s music in the coming years.
Grouplove signed with Atlantic Records in 2010, and released the debut album, Never Trust a Happy Song, in 2011. The album was a success, rising into the top twenty on the alternative charts and to the number twenty-five spot on the rock charts, spawning the number on alternative hit “Tongue Tied.” But it was the group’s sophomore effort, the album Spreading Rumours, which became their breakthrough up on its release in 2013, rising into the top twenty on the mainstream, alternative, and rock charts in the United States.
Since that time, Grouplove has released the additional album Big Mess (2016), featuring their top ten alternative hit, “Welcome to Your Life.” The album also features the 2017 single, “Good Morning.” Most recently, Grouplove’s single “Don't’ Stop Making it Happen” was featured on the EA Sports video game, FIFA 17.
