Kaleo Biography

The Icelandic Christian rock band known as Kaleo was established in 2012. The group rose to prominence with their 2016 hit single “Way Down We Go,” but their first album was actually released in 2013. The self-titled work, Kaleo, spawned a number of singles, including the song “All the Pretty Girls,” which rose into the top twenty on the alternative charts in the United States and into the top forty on the rock charts.

 

Throughout 2015, Kaleo performed at a number of high profile festivals, including SXSW, and opened for Vance Joy on tour. But it was the album A/B, released in 2016, that truly put Kaleo on the map, with its number one alternative hit, “Way Down We Go.”

 

Since this breakthrough hit, Kaleo has been a band on the rise – with the current lineup of JJ Julius Son, Rubin Pollock, Daniel Kristjansson, and David Antonsson, Kaleo recently embarked on its first headlining tour and is planning another tour for the summer of 2017.
