The Revivalists Biography

The American band known as The Revivalists was established in New Orleans in 2007 by founding members David Shaw and Zach Feinberg. The two musicians simply met on the street one day and struck up a conversation, discovering similar tastes in music and mutual aspirations to pursue careers as musicians. After adding a few more musicians to the lineup, The Revivalists began playing venues around New Orleans, establishing a local following.

 

The Revivalists released a self-produced independent EP in 2008, earning critical acclaim from New Orleans radio stations. The debut album, Vital Signs, followed two years later, after which time The Revivalists signed with Wind-up Records for their next two albums – City of Sound (2014) and Men Amongst Mountains (2015.) Men Amongst Mountains became The Revivalists’ bit breakthrough; on the strength of the number on hit “Wish I Knew You,” the album rose into the top twenty on the alternative charts and up to number twenty-three on the rock charts.

 

Today, The Revivalists have been hailed by Rolling Stone was one of their “10 Bands You Need to Know.” The now seven-piece band consists of musicians: David Shaw, Zach Feinberg, Michael Girardot, Andrew Campanelli, George Gekas, and Rob Ingraham.
