Kevin Dillion Biography
The American actor Kevin Dillon was born in 1965 in New Rochelle, New York. Kevin began acting in films around the same time that his brother, Matt Dillon, was enjoying a career on the rise in the same industry. But it wasn’t long before Kevin began to make a name for himself as a gifted actor as well, scoring a key role in the film Platoon (1986), in which he portrayed a psychopathic soldier with frightening precision.
The role earned Kevin accolades from the critics and set a course for a career which has lasted well into the new millennium. Key roles for Dillon after Platoon include: The Doors (1991), Frankie’s House (1992), No Escape (1994), and Misbegotten (1998.) But around the same time, Kevin Dillon began appearing on a number of notable television programs in recurring roles (including NYPD Blue, That’s Life, 24, and Karen Sisco) until he snagged the role with which he is best known for, as Johnny Chase on the hit series Entourage.
For his work on Entourage, Kevin Dillon has been recognized with multiple nominations for awards, including three Primetime Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and two Teen Choice Awards. Since the series concluded, Kevin Dillon has returned to the big screen, appearing in such films as Poseidon, Compulsion, and Twisted Metal, but audiences likely anticipate his appearance in the upcoming 2015 film Entourage, based on the series which made Dillon a household name.
