Joe Perry, born Joseph Anthony Pereira on September 10, 1950, is an iconic American musician recognized as the founding member and lead guitarist of the legendary rock band Aerosmith. He's also delved into solo work with his band, the Joe Perry Project, and joined forces with Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp in the supergroup Hollywood Vampires. Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Perry grew up in Hopedale, aspiring to be a marine biologist. In the late 1960s, Perry formed The Jam Band with Tom Hamilton, later joined by Steven Tyler, Brad Whitford, and Joey Kramer, thus creating the iconic Aerosmith. Initially regarded as Rolling Stones imitators, Aerosmith achieved massive success during the mid-1970s with albums like "Toys in the Attic" and "Rocks." However, the band faced internal strife fueled by drug use. Perry even left during the recording of "Night in the Ruts," leading to the creation of his album "Let the Music Do the Talking."
 
Reuniting with Aerosmith in 1984, Perry's collaboration with Steven Tyler, their "Toxic Twins" partnership, produced hits like "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)" and "Love in an Elevator."
