Broad City Biography

The American comedy troupe, web series, and television series known as Broad City was established in the mid 2000’s, by founding members and stars Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson. The two women with their independently produced web series which launched in 2009; it wasn’t long before Comedy Central took notice and turned the online forum into a highly successful show.

Bolstered by enthusiasm from comedy veteran Amy Poehler, Broad City launched on the Comedy Central network in 2014. The series follows two Jewish American women (Jacobson and Glazer) living in New York City as they navigate professional and personal challenges through comedic stereotypes.
