Jay Mohr was born in 1970 in Verona, New Jersey. He first appeared on Saturday Night Live in 1993, and also had an early role on the Jeff Foxworthy Show. But his big breakthrough came in 1966 in Jerry Maguire, in the role of the seedy agent, and then immediately after that in Picture Perfect alongside Jennifer Aniston in 1997.
From there on out, Mohr was a ubiquitous presence in film and on television, appearing in: Suicide Kings (1997), Small Soldiers (1998), Playing by Heart (1999), 200 Cigarettes (1999), Pay it Forward (2000), The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002), CSI: Miami (2003), Are We There Yet? (2005), King’s Ransom (2005), Ghost Whisperer (2006-2008), Even Money (2007), Monk (2009), Hereafter (2010), Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2011), Suburgatory (2011), and most recently, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2013.) He also produced and hosted Last Comic Standing for NBC between 2003 and 2004, and has hosted his own podcast, Mohr Stories, for the last few years.
In 2004, Jay Mohr published his first book, Gasping for Airtime: Two Years in the Trenches of Saturday Night Live. His second book, No Wonder My Parents Drank: Tales from a Stand-Up Dad, was released in 2010. Mohr continues to act and perform regularly.
