Nick Swardson as born in 1976 in Minneapolis. Swardson began performing stand-up when he was still a teenager, and following graduation he began to pursue a career in comedy full-time. Nick attended dozens of open mic opportunities at comedy clubs around town and found lots of encouragement from his fellow comedians. He was eventually selected to perform at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in 2007, and his stand-up was met with praise.
The success of his performance encouraged Nick Swardson to move to New York City and then to Los Angeles, where he continued his stand-up performances. These led to roles on television and in film, and by 2001, Nick found his stand-up featured on Comedy Central Presents. His roles in film include: Almost Famous (2000), Malibu’s Most Wanted (2003), Grandma’s Boy (2006), the Benchwarmers (2006), Click (2006), Reno 911! Miami (2007), I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2007), You Don’t Mess with the Zohan (2008), the House Bunny (2008), Just Go With It (2011), 20 Minutes or Less (2011), and Jack and Jill (2011.) His television contributions include his two Comedy Central Presents shows (2001 and 2006), a role in Reno 911! from 2003 to 2009, the voice of Gay Robot in 2006, and Cavemen in 2007. Swardson has also contributed to a number of these projects in the capacity of writer, specifically Gay Robot, the Benchwarmers, and Malibu’s Most Wanted.
Nick Swardson’s own comedy show, Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time, premiered in 2010 on Comedy Central. He has worked alongside Adam Sandler on the film Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star (2010), and most recently can be seen in the film 3 Minutes or Less.
