Terri Clark Biography

Terri Clark was born in 1968 in Quebec, Canada, but she was raised mainly in Alberta. Terri comes from a long line of family musicians, going back to her grandparents, who were country music performers. As a child, Clark was highly influenced by the country music around her, and as soon as she was old enough, she set her sights on Nashville to seek a career as a performer herself.

Eventually, Terri Clark caught the attention of PolyGram/Mercury Records and they signed her to a record deal in 1994. Clark’s debut single, “Better Things to Do,” was released in the following year and rose to the top of the country charts. Terri Clark, her self-titled debut album, followed, along with the additional singles “If I Were You,” “When Boy Meets Girl,” and “Suddenly Single.” Clark’s debut album eventually certified platinum, and launched a career which would include the additional albums: Just the Same (1996), How I Feel (1998), Fearless (2000), Pain to Kill (2003), Life Goes On (2005), The Long Way Home (2009), and Roots and Wings (2011.)

The albums spawned the top ten country singles: “Poor Poor Pitiful Me,” “Emotional Girl,” “Now That I Found You,” “A Little Gasoline,” “I Just Wanna Be Mad,” “Girls Lie Too,” and “You’re Easy on the Eyes,” which was her biggest hit, rising to number one on the country charts in both Canada and the United States. Most recently, Terri Clark released the album Classic (2012), and began plans for additional performances and another studio album in the future.
