Robin S Biography
The American singer and songwriter known as Robin S was born Robin Stone in 1962. Robin S rose to prominence in the 1990’s, when after signing with Big Beat Records she provided the era with some of its most iconic and enduring dance and club hits.
After signing with the label in 1993, Robin released her debut album, Show Me Love. The album spawned the chart-topping title track, which rose into the top five on the mainstream charts and into the number one spot on the dance charts. The single was such an enormous success that Robin S was invited to perform “Show Me Love” at the 1994 American Music Awards. Robin S’s follow up, From Now On, reflected more R&B and gospel influences, but again spawned a number one dance hit, “It Must Be Love.” The album’s second single, “Midnight,” also rose to the number one spot.
Although Robin S has not released any new albums since 1997, she continues to perform and occasionally record. Robin S most recently recorded the single “At My Best,” in collaboration with Corey Gibbons, and also released her own single, “Love Thing” in 2015. She also collaborated with DJ Escape on the number one dance single, “Shout It Loud,” released in 2016.
