DJ Snake Biography

The DJ and producer known as DJ Snake was born William Grigahcine in France. Before DJ Snake rose to fame with the recent singles “Turn Down For What” and “Bird Machine,” he produced tracks for Lady Gaga’s album “Born This Way” in 2011, leading to his first Grammy nomination.

But it was the song “Turn Down for What,” released by DJ Snake in late 2013, that rose to popularity after its inclusion in a widely viewed television commercial for Sol Republic. The song rose to the top of the dance chart internationally, eventually rising into the top forty on the mainstream charts in America. In addition to “Turn Down for What,” additional singles from DJ Snake include “Together”; “Slow Down” (with Spanker and Yellow Claw); and “Get Low” (with Dillon Francis.) DJ Snake has also remixed a number of hits by notable artists, including: “Bubble Butt” (by Major Lazer); “Birthday Song,” “Move Your Feet” (by Junior Senior); “You Know You Like It” (by AlunaGeorge); “Stay the Night” (by Zedd); and “New Slaves” (by Kanye West.)

Most recently, DJ Snake produced “Do What U Want” and “Applause” for Lady Gaga’s recent album ARTPOP. DJ Snake continues to record, mix, and collaborate with a number of artists on projects slated for released in the near future.
