Eva Simons Biography

The singer-songwriter Eva Simons was born in 1984 in Amsterdam. Eva’s upbringing was surrounded by musicians, including her father and mother, who worked as a pianist and vocalist. Simons too, began her study of music with the piano and classical composition, eventually attending and graduating from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Eva performed with a number of bands in the early 2000’s, but it was her song “Silly Boy” that garnered her international attention after its online release in 2009.

 

“Silly Boy” led to a contract with EMI for Eva Simons, launching a career that has skyrocketed in the last few years. Eva has become known for her contributions (vocals) to a number of songs in collaboration with other artists, including: “Take Over Control” (with Afrojack); “This Is Love” (with will.i.am); “Let’s Do It Right” (with The Young Professionals); and “Best Night” (with LMFAO and in collaboration with will.i.am and GoonRock.) Simons has also contributed vocals to the songs “Pass Out” (Chris Brown); “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” (M. Pokora); “I Need More” (Apster); and “Bulletproof” (Doctor P.)

 

In addition, Eva Smith has released her own additional singles: “Renegade,” “Chemistry,” and “I Don’t Like You,” the latter of which rose to the number one spot on the US Dance charts. Most recently, Simons served as the supporting act for Beyonce on her 2013 world tour while in the Netherlands. Eva Simons has announced additional projects and future collaborations expected for release in the coming years.
