Martin Buttrich Biography

DJ Martin Buttrich began his foray into electronic music in the early 1990’s, when he was still a teenager. Buttrich acquired the necessary equipment to begin experimenting with his own unique sound, and only a few years later, a successful collaboration with Timo Maas led to a full-time career remixing some of the eras most notable hits from artists such as Muse, Depeche Mode, and Madonna. 

 

The partnership would be only the first for Buttrich; in 2002 he began working alongside Loco Dice to produce a significant library of mixes, including a remix of Tori Amos’s “Don’t Make Me  Come to Vegas,” which earned Martin his first Grammy nomination in 2003. The producers set up a studio in Buttrich’s Brooklyn apartment in 2006, and within a short period of time, they established their own label, Desolat.

 

In the years since, Martin Buttrich has spent much of his time touring and performing live around the globe at venues such as Amnesia in Ibiza, Cocoon in Frankfurt, and Fabric in London. He recently released his debut solo album, Crash Test, on the Desolat label, and word has it that he is currently working on his second album from his new home base in Los Angeles.
