Matthias Tanzmann Biography

German DJ Matthias Tanzmann surfaced as one of the 1990’s most promising DJ’s in the middle of the decade, with a number of remixes which quickly caught the attention of electronic music fans worldwide. By the dawn of the new millennium, Tanzmann was a regular at some of the world’s most notable clubs, especially those in Ibiza, often performing alongside colleague and friend Davide Squillace.

In the mid 2000’s, Matthias Tanzmann established his own Moon Harbour label to serve as a vehicle for his EPs, LPs, and mixes, and the result is an impressive collection. He has released a full-length album, Restless (2008), and a number of EPs and singles, including: “Rose Garden,” “Those Nights,” “Anyway,” “Bulldozer,” “Rugby,” “Nip Slip EP,” and the “Restless” remixes, volumes one and two. In addition, Matthias Tanzmann has a number of remix collections, including remixes created alongside Satoshi Tomile and David Squillace.

Most recently, Matthias Tanzmann established a second label, Cargo Edition, which often features music and new releases from a variety of other artists, including Juno6, Vera, Markus Schatz, and Michael Melchner. Both Moon Harbour and Cargo Edition often serve as a launching vehicle for many other up and coming DJs.

Today, Matthias Tanzmann continues to perform regularly around the globe, including his residency at DC10 in Ibiza, which began in 2007.
