Sidney Samson Biography

The DJ and musician Sidney Samson was born in 1981 in the Netherlands. Samson began his work as a DJ while he was still a teenager, at the young age of thirteen. Throughout his formative years, Samson performed frequently in his local hometown and elsewhere in the Netherlands, until the release of his debut in 1999.

Samson released his debut single, “Riverside,” to critical acclaim and commercial success. The song rose to the top of the charts in Ireland, the UK, the Netherlands, and Australia, hitting the number on spot in the last two. Sidney’s unique blend of hip-hop and dance has given rise to a number of additional successful singles, including: “Shut Up and Let It Go” (featuring Lady Bee); “The World Is Yours”; “Fill U Up” (featuring Sicerow); “Wake Up Call” (featuring Steve Aoki); “Duplex”; “Let’s Go” (featuring Lady Bee and Bizzey); “Quacky” (with Afrojack); “Tomahawk”; “Thanks I Get It”; Get Low”; “Mutate” (featuring Lil Jon); “Better Than Yesterday” (featuring will.i.am); and “Revenge of the Acid” (with Killfake.)

Sidney Samson recently released the album Dirty Bass in 2012, featuring the song “Change Your Life” (with Far East Movement and Flo Rida.) Samson also recently established his own record labels, Samsobeats and Rock the Houze (the latter in partnership with Spinnin’ Records) and he currently serves as the resident DJ at the Dutch club The Matrixx.
