AlunaGeorge Biography

The British electronic music duo known as AlunaGeorge was established by founding members George Reid and Aluna Francis. Francis had performed with a group called My Toys Like Me, and Reid had served as a guitarist for an indie band. After coming together in 2009, the two musicians began writing music, releasing the indie debut single “You Know You Like It” in 2012.

“You Know You Like It” was followed by the song “Your Drums, Your Love,” which debuted on the UK charts in the number fifty position. For the next year, AlunaGeorge spent much of the group’s time in the studio, preparing for the debut album Body Music, which arrived in 2013. But it was AlunaGeorge’s collaboration with Disclosure on the song “White Noise” which finally scored them their first top forty hit, ultimately rising to the number two spot in the UK.

Since that time, AlunaGeorge has been a musical duo on the rise. So far, the group has earned a BRIT Award nomination and accolades from multiple other industry publications, including the BBC. AlunaGeorge most recently toured alongside Sia as the artists opening act in 2016. The duo’s next album is expected to arrive in early 2018.
