Classixx Biography

The American DJ duo known as Classixx was established in the mid 2000’s by founding members Tyler Blake and Michael David. The two men had grown up together and were childhood friends; many years later, while living in Los Angeles in their twenties, Tyler and Michael were pursuing individual careers as musicians when they decided to come together as an electronic duo; thus, Classixx was born.

Classixx released a debut single, “I’ll Get You,” in 2009. Between 2009 and 2013, Classixx provided remixes for some of the era’s most influential dance musicians, including Major Lazer, Ladyhawke, Groove Armada, and Phoenix. In 2013, Classixx released its debut studio album, Hanging Gardens, featuring the singles “Holding On,” “All You’re Waiting For,” and “Santa Domino.” The duo quickly became a staple on the dance music scene, performing at some of the world’s most notable festivals and venues, throughout 2014 and 2015.

Classixx recently released their second album, Faraway Reach, in 2016. The album features multiple guest appearances by notable artists such as Passion Pit (on “Safe Inside”); T-Pain (on “Whatever I Want”); and Alex Frankel (on “I Feel Numb.”) Classixx is currently an electronic dance duo on the rise – Blake and David are spending the summer of 2017 on an international tour that will bring them to Canada, Korea, China, Chile, and throughout the United States.
