DJ Fergie Biography

The electronic music artist known as DJ Fergie was born in 1979 in Larne, Northern Ireland. Fergie began DJ-ing in his hometown area when he was still a teenager, building a reputation in Ireland before moving to London in the early 1990’s. While in London, he DJ-ed at some of the city’s most famous club, and by the turn of the millennium he was broadcasting regularly on BBC Radio 1.

 

DJ Fergie is well-known not only for his remixes, but for his own singles (including “Deception” and “Hoovers & Horns,” both of which charted) and EPs, including: The Me EP (2008), For the Wee Small Hours EP (2008), Exit EP (2009), and The Resistance EP (2011), to name a few. Notable remixes include “Shout” ( Tears for Fears); “Hinode” and “Dirty” (King Unique); “City of Gods” (Namito); “Letter to No One” (Yousef); “Directions” (Psycatron); “Follow Me Down,” (UNKLE); and “Right On, Right On” (Silicone Soul.) DJ mix albums from DJ Fergie include Headliners: 03 (2001), GK Summer Trance (2002), Mixmag Live “ Fergie” (2004), and Toolroom Presents Rhythm Distrikt 02 Mixed by Fergie (2012.)
