Fred Again Biography

Fred Again, born Frederick John Philip Gibson, is a British record producer, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and DJ. Born in 1993 in Balham, London, Fred comes from a family with aristocratic connections, including his mother's lineage tracing back to the Earls of Dundonald and the Earls of Wemyss and March.

Fred's musical journey began at a young age. At 16, he joined an a cappella group at Brian Eno's London studio, where he collaborated with the renowned producer and songwriter. He also attended the private boarding school Marlborough College in Wiltshire, England. In 2014, Fred participated in the Red Bull Music Academy in Tokyo, Japan.

Fred's breakthrough came when he co-wrote George Ezra's hit single "Shotgun", which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. He has since worked with numerous artists, including Ed Sheeran, Rita Ora, Clean Bandit, and Demi Lovato. Fred has also won several awards, including Producer of the Year at the Brit Awards 2020, making him the youngest winner of the title.

In 2019, Fred began his Actual Life project, collecting samples from various sources and incorporating them into original tracks. He released two albums under this project, Actual Life (April 14 - December 17 2020) and Actual Life 2 (February 2 - October 15 2021). The third installment, Actual Life 3 (January 1 - September 9 2022), was released in October 2022. Fred has also toured extensively across Europe, America, New Zealand, and Australia.

Fred Again has performed at various festivals and events, including Glastonbury Festival and Boiler Room. He has also collaborated with other artists, such as Swedish House Mafia and Skrillex. In January 2023, Fred released the single "Rumble" with Skrillex and Flowdan. He has also appeared on NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts and performed at Coachella.

Fred Again's professional name originates from a line in the live-action movie Scooby-Doo. He has been open about his creative process and inspiration, often incorporating personal experiences and emotions into his music.
