Ghastly Biography

The record producer and DJ known as Ghastly was born David Lee Crow in Arizona. Crow grew up in a rural area of Buckeye, living on a goat farm with his family. As a young man, David harbored dreams of becoming a musician, and so at first chance he moved to Venice Beach, California, to begin working the Los Angeles as a DJ.

After many months of struggle, including a period of homelessness, Crow became the resident DJ at Exchange LA. Performing under the name Ghastly, he quickly developed a local following and began to design and record his own remixes and original songs. Notable singles from Ghastly include: “Kill it With Fire” (with Buygore); “Every Night” (with Dim Mak); “Get On This” and “Hawt” (both with Mad Decent); and “Fuk Watchu Think” (with OWSLA.) Notable remixes include Diplo’s “Biggie Bounce” and Zomboy’s “Lights Out.”

DJ Ghastly is just getting started; he’s clearly a DJ on the rise and one to watch in the coming years. His most recent singles—“We Might Fall” (with Matthew Koma) and “Geisha”—arrived in 2017.
