RealYungPhil, a talented rapper from Connecticut, is making waves in the music industry. Born Elijah Young, he is inspired by his brother Gangstalicious and aims to encourage kids to pursue their passions in music and stay close to their loved ones. FullEffectBoyz is also a significant part of RealYungPhil's team.

Growing up in Bloomfield, Connecticut, RealYungPhil was surrounded by New York rap, specifically the fast-paced and energetic style called litefeet. This style dominated dance circles throughout the tri-state area in the 2000s. "It was party music, and if there's one thing the Hartford area is known for it's our party scene," says the 24-year-old.

Tragedy struck when RealYungPhil's close friend Gangstalicious was shot and killed by police in 2017 at the age of 20. This event changed RealYungPhil's perspective on life and motivated him to keep his friend's legacy alive through his music. He has stated that it was his friend's passing that made him realize the importance of turning up his music.

In 2020, RealYungPhil made the bold decision to move from Connecticut to Los Angeles, where he joined forces with New York rapper 1600J. They drove across the country together, saving money by working odd jobs and living in Airbnbs before eventually securing an apartment. With COVID-19 pandemic restrictions making it difficult to find employment, RealYungPhil dedicated himself full-time to his music career.

RealYungPhil has found success through his ability to adapt to different styles and lean into the quirks of his producers' sound. He values working with producers who have their unique vibe and enjoys finding ways to collaborate with them.
