Ryan Preston Adams, known professionally as Rylo Rodriguez, is an American rapper hailing from Mobile, Alabama, born on September 30, 1993. He gained prominence in the hip-hop scene after signing with Lil Baby's label, Glass Window Entertainment (previously known as 4PF), in a joint venture with Virgin Records in February 2020.Rylo Rodriguez grew up in the Roger Williams Housing Projects in Mobile, Alabama, where he was raised by his grandfather along with his mother, sister, and two brothers. His upbringing in a challenging environment greatly influenced his music and storytelling.Rylo began his music career by featuring on tracks for Lil Baby, such as the hit singles "Eat Or Starve" and "Stick On Me." His early work often involved reimagining classic pop and R&B songs, incorporating personal narratives into tracks like "Project Baby," which samples Mariah Carey's "Always Be My Baby," and "Valentines," which utilizes elements from Tamia's "Can't Get Enough." In 2018, he released a collaborative mixtape titled Rogerville alongside fellow Mobile rapper NoCap.In 2020, Rylo Rodriguez officially signed with 4PF and featured on the track "Forget That" from Lil Baby's album My Turn. His debut album, G.I.H.F. (Goat In Human Form), was released on November 27, 2020, and peaked at number 2 on the Rolling Stone Breakthrough 25 and number 48 on the Rolling Stone Artists 500.Rylo continued to gain momentum in the following years, with significant contributions to the track "5500 Degrees" by EST Gee, alongside Lil Baby and 42 Dugg, which marked his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 92. His second studio album, Been One, was released in 2023, peaking within the top ten on the Billboard 200 and featuring the lead single "Thang for You" with NoCap, which marked his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 as a lead artist.He began to earn recognition in 2018 with the singles "BMF," "Relocate," and "Mufasa," which highlighted his growing presence in the industry. Notably, he wrote a song about NFL quarterback Steve McNair, produced by Al'Geno, and released it in February 2019.
