SuicideboyS Biography

Suicideboys, or $uicideboy$, is an American rap group formed in 2014. The duo consists of Scrim, ($crim), and Ruby da Cherry, who are cousins from New Orleans. The two would begin to find success on the streaming platform SoundCloud, and the Suicideboys would release a staggering amount of EPs and mixtapes beginning in 2014.

By 2015, the duo would begin to gain traction from their work ethic. Suicideboys’ 2015 collaborative project with rapper Pouya, $outh $ide $uicide, would be a notable underground release. The following years would see them rise to Billboard charts and gain looks from notable publications. Suicideboys’ debut album, I Want to Die in New Orleans, would garner critical success and further develop their cult-like following in the hip-hop community.

uicideboys’ debut album would peak at #9 on the Billboard 200 chart and sell over thirty thousand copies while entering the top ten on the Australian and Canadian charts as well. Their compilation album, Songsthatwewontgetsuedforbutattheendofthedayweallgonnadieanyway, would peak at #23 on the US Heatseekers chart, while their lone charting EP Radical $uicide would peak at #5 on the same chart in 2016. To date, the Suicideboys have released over 40 projects since their inception, with three Gold-certified singles.

Suicideboys released their second studio album Stop Staring at the Shadows in early 2020, peaking at #30 on the Billboard 200 chart.
