Dispatch Biography
The American indie band known as Dispatch was established in the mid 1900’s in Boston by founding members Chad Urmston, Pete Heimbold, and Brad Corrigan. The three musicians met while in college, and after discovering common influences from funk, reggae, roots, and folk-rock, the three men began performing together around the Middlebury area.
After graduation, the trio relocated to Boston to continue pursuing their breakthrough as Dispatch. Between 1996 and 2000 the band released four studio albums to a growing fan base – Silent Steeples (1996), Bang Bang (1997), Four-Day Trials (1999), and Who Are We Living For? (2000.) Then, in 2004, Dispatch announced that they would disband; a farewell performance took place at the Hatch Shell in Boston, bringing fans from around the globe to say goodbye to Dispatch.
After releasing the documentary film The Last Dispatch in 2005, Dispatch was rather quiet until 2011, when the members reconvened. A reunion tour was scheduled for later that year, and then in 2012 Dispatch released their album Circles Around the Sun. The years 2011 through 2014 also saw the band perform on the road for a variety of special events, and also as a supporting act for Dave Matthews on tour.
Dispatch continues now to perform and record with their original lineup. The band released their latest album — America, Location 12— in the summer of 2017.
