The Internet Biography

The soul band known as The Internet was established in 2011 by founding members Matt Martians and Syd Tha Kyd. The Internet has so far released the albums Purple Naked Ladies (2011) and Feel Good (2013), but the group rose to prominence after receiving a Grammy Award nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album for their third album, Ego Death, which arrived in 2016.

 

The Internet’s first album, Purple Naked Ladies, featured the singles “Cocaine,” “Fastlane,” and “Ya Know,” and although it experienced only moderate success, it set the stage for The Internet’s sophomore album, Feel Good, which arrived in 2013. The album gave audiences the single “Give It Time,” and immediately after the album’s release, The Internet joined Mac Miller on tour to help promote his album Watching Movies with the Sound Off.

 

The Internet is a band on the rise and definitely one to watch in the coming years. With the group’s recent Grammy nomination and critical enthusiasm for the album Ego Death, much is anticipated from this band for 2016 and beyond. In addition to the group’s three albums, The Internet also has released the EP Purple Naked Ladies: 4 Bonus Songs and the compilation albums 12 Odd future Songs (2011) and The OF Tape Vol. 2 (2012.)
