Avant Biography

The R&B singer known as Avant was born Myron Avant in 1978. Avant rose to the forefront of the R&B scene with his platinum debut album, My Thoughts, which arrived on the scene in 2000. The album reached into the top five on the R&B charts but also peaked at number forty-five on the mainstream charts as well.

Since then, Avant has given audiences the albums: Ecstasy (2002), Private Room (2003), Director (2006), Avant (2008), and the Letter (2010.) Avant’s albums have given audiences the mainstream and R&B hits “Separated,” “My First Love,” “Making Good Love,” “Don’t Say No, Just Say Yes,” “Read Your Mind,” “Don’t Take Your Love Away,” “4 Minutes,” “Lie About Us,” “ Kiss Goodbye,” “Your Body is the Business,” and “You & I” (featuring Keke Wyatt.) He has also collaborated with a number of high profile performers on songs, including: Bone Thugs-n-Harmony (on “Cleveland is the City”); Baby Bash (on “Super Saucy”); Pussycat Dolls (on “Stickwitu”); and Diddy (on “Claim My Place.”)
