The R&B singer Montell Jordan was born in 1968 in Los Angeles. Young Montell did not begin to pursue a career in music until after graduating from university, but in 1995, he released his debut album This Is How We Do It and scored his first hit with the title track.

Since that time, Montell Jordan has released the albums More… (1996), Let’s Ride (1998), Get It On… Tonite (1999), Montell Jordan (2002), Life After Def (2003), and Let It Rain (2008.) The albums have spawned the R&B and crossover hits “Somethin’ 4 da Honeyz,” “I Like,” “Falling,” “What’s On Tonight,” “Let’s Ride,” “I Can Do That,” and “Get It On Tonite.” In addition, Montell Jordan has served as producer for a number of other musicians, including Deborah Cox, 98 Degrees, Christina Milian, and Nina Badric.

In 2010, Montell Jordan has chosen to leave music for personal reasons; having recently become a born-again Christian, his focus is now at his home church and his faith-based project, Victory World Music.
