Chris Blue Biography

American R&B singer Chris Blue was born in 1990 in Arizona. Blue grew up in the Glendale area of the state, the youngest of seven children in a large Baptist family. After moving to Tennessee with his family when he was ten, Chris began preaching at the local church, ultimately becoming ordained when he was still a teenager.  

Alongside his siblings, Chris formed the Blue Brothers in his late teens, but then began competing as a solo artist through various opportunities. After winning a Knoxville-based competition in 2015, Chris embarked on a tour, taking him throughout the United States but also into the Caribbean. When he felt he was ready, Blue auditioned for the reality competition series, The Voice, at the launch of its twelfth season. Judge Alicia Keys chose Chris for her team, and his renditions of songs such as “Tracks of My Tears,” “Superstition,” and “When a Man Loves a Woman” brought the audience to its feet for every performance.

Ultimately, Chris Blue went on to win the season competition in first place and secure a recording contract with Republic Records. He is currently preparing for his debut album, expected to release in the coming year.
