Jordin Sparks Biography

Jordin Sparks was only seventeen years old when she became the youngest person to win American Idol. Within four years after that achievement, Jordin Sparks had released two albums and was well on her way to becoming a superstar. He self-titled debut album went platinum upon its release, with the first three singles charting and the album selling over two million copies. “No Air,” one of the first singles off the album, became the highest reaching single by an American Idol contestant.

Battlefield, released in 2009, charted at number seven upon its release, and the title track reached into the Top Ten. Battlefield is an achievement for Jordin Sparks not only for its commercial success, but for the fact that Jordin wrote four of the album’s tracks, including "911 Emergency," "Was I The Only One," "Faith," and " The Cure." In 2010, Jordin Sparks took her talents to the stage, making her debut on Broadway in The Heights.

So far in her career, Jordin Sparks has toured with NKOTBSB, the Jonas Brothers, Britney Spears, and Alicia Keys.  She has earned an American Music Award, two Grammy nominations, a People’s Choice Award, and two BET Awards. Jordin Sparks has plans for future projects in music, acting, and other endeavors. She recently re-booted her music career with a new recording deal with Sony Music Entertainment, under which she released the album Right Here Right Now in 2015.

In addition to her achievements in music and on the stage, Jordin Sparks has played an active role in a variety of charities, including the Save the Music Foundation, the I’m M.A.D., Are You? campaign, the Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation, and VH1’s Save the Music Foundation. She has also launched her own perfume line, the first of which (titled Because of You…) arrived in 2010 and was followed by Fascinate and Ambition. In 2016, the Food Network launched Sparks’s new series, Sugar and Sparks, which explores her endeavors in the baking industry.
