Rini Biography

Rini is a Filipino-born singer-songwriter born in the late 1990s. He began his musical journey by learning guitar chords from his father's instrument, which he received as a gift after his father traveled abroad. Rini's early musical influences came from his parents' CD collection, which spanned genres such as R&B, rock, and pop. He grew up in Melbourne, Australia, where he joined a local church community and learned to play keyboards, bass, and drums.

Rini started uploading heartfelt covers of R&B songs online at the age of 17 and soon began writing his own material. He released his self-titled debut EP in 2016, which garnered interest from Warner Music. The label licensed several of his subsequent single releases, including "Emerald" and "For the Last Time," a collaboration with Korean artist Snaggle Owky.

Rini's music style is characterized by its slow and sensual R&B sound, which has been shaped by his early influences and experiences. He has released several EPs, including After the Sun in 2018, which marked a significant development in his sound. In 2019, he collaborated with Agung Mango on the single "Feels Natural" and relocated to Los Angeles, California, an R&B hub.

Rini's full-length debut album Constellations was released in 2021 to critical acclaim. The album featured popular singles such as "Out of the Blue" and "Red Lights," which featured rapper Wale. He has also released singles like "Trust" and "Haunt Me," the latter of which appeared on his Ultraviolet EP.
