Five Finger Death Punch Biography
The heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch was established in 2005 in California. Founding members Ivan Moody, Zoltan Bathory, Matt Snell, Jeremy Spencer, and Caleb Andrew Bingham established the band and self-produced their debut, The Way of the Fist, one year after their foundation, and garnered the attention of Firm Music for their first recording deal.
The EP Pre-Emptive Strike came next, featuring the song "The Bleeding," followed by a tour in support of the band Korn in 2007. After establishing a stronger fan base, Firm Music re-released Five Finger Death Punch’s album The Way of the Fist, featuring the additional single "Stranger Than Fiction," followed by FFDP’s sophomore album, War is the Answer, in 2009. This time, the album rose into the top ten on the Billboard charts, spawning the hit singles "Hard to See," "Walk Away," "Dying Breed," "No One Gets Left Behind," " Bad Company," and "Far From Home."
Since that time, 5FDP has released the albums American Capitalist (2011) and the two-volume set The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell (2013.) The albums have spawned the additional hit singles "Under and Over It," "Remember Everything," "Coming Down," "The Pride," "Lift Me Up," and "Battle Born." Five Finger Death Punch recently participated in the 2012 Trespass America Festival, alongside such notable bands as Pop Evil, God Forbid, and Killswitch Engage.
Although FFDP has experienced some changes to the lineup, the band continues to perform and record with current members Ivan Moody, Zoltan Bathory, Jeremy Spencer, Jason Hook, and Chris Kael. Five Finger Death Punch recently returned to the studio to prepare for their next album release, set for sometime in 2014.
