Halestorm Biography

The hard rock band Halestorm was established in Pennsylvania in the late 1990’s by siblings Elizabeth Hale and Arejay Hale. The brother and sister team have been studying instruments and writing together since they were children, and after teaming up with Josh Smith and Joe Hottinger, they formed Halestorm and signed with Atlantic Records in 2005.

Halestorm’s debut EP, One and Done, was released later in the same year, about four years before their smash-hit debut, Halestorm, arrived in 2009. The album was a success, spawning the hits "I Get Off," "It’s Not You," "Familiar Taste of Poison," and "Love/Hate Heartbreak." Around the same time, Halestorm launched a touring schedule which has become legendary for its intensity, clocking well over two hundred shows a year. The live DVD Live in Philly 2010 is a result of one such performance, followed by Halestorm’s sophpomore album, The Strange Case Of…, released in 2012. In between, the band also released the EPs ReAniMate: The DoVeRs (2011) and Hello, it’s Mz. Hyde (2012), spawning the additional singles "Love Bites (So Do I)," "I Miss the Misery," "Freak Like Me," "Here’s to Us," and "Mz. Hyde."

In addition to their own music, Halestorm has contributed music to tracks for other musicians, including "Shed Some Light" for Shinedown and the album Devil and the Deep Blue Sea for Black Stone Cherry. Most recently, Halestorm performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and released the EP ReAniMate 2.0 (2013.)
