Royal Machines Biography
The cover band known as Royal Machines arrived on the music scene in 2015, a new incarnation of Dave Navarro’s band Camp Freddy. With the inclusion of Josh Freese and Mark McGrath, Royal Machines picks up where Camp Freddy left off, continuing to perform covers of rock’s most enduring classics and hits.
Like Camp Freddy, Royal Machines is the brain child of guitarist Dave Navarro, who originally rose to fame with the band Jane’s Addiction. Prior to that, Navarro had performed with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Cited by Allmusic as one of “alternative rock’s first true guitar heroes,” Navarro embarked on a solo career and a number of different side projects after Jane’s Addiction disbanded, collaborating with dozens of music’s most high-profile performers, including: Janet Jackson, Nine Inch Nails, Alanis Morissette, Marilyn Manson, P. Diddy, and Christina Aguilera.
Royal Machines performed a number of private events and special events, including a New Years Eve show at the end of 2015. The band continues to perform in 2016, with the current lineup of: Josh Freese, Mark McGrath, Dave Navarro, Chris Cheney, Billy Morrison, and Donovan Leitch.
