Dead & Company Biography

The group Dead & Company was established in quite recently, in 2015, but has its roots in the legendary jam band Grateful Dead. Comprised of former Grateful Dead members Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart, and Bob Weir (in addition to Oteil Burbridge on drums, Jeff Chimenti on keyboards, and John Mayer on guitar), the band began with a collaboration between Mayer and Weird. The two musicians met on the set of The Late Late Show and formed a bond that resulted in Dead & Company.

Since their inception, Dead & Company has performed at a number of festivals, including the Bonnaroo Music Festival, and they embarked on a debut tour throughout the summer of 2016. Although the band has not released any studio recordings yet, their live performances are widely available in CD and digital format, via the group’s website (livedead.co) The band is currently finishing their 2017 summer tour.
