Michael Kenji Shinoda, born on February 11, 1977, in Panorama City, California, and raised in Agoura Hills, California, is a versatile American musician, singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He co-founded the renowned rock band Linkin Park in 1996 and is the band's co-lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, keyboardist, primary songwriter, and producer. Shinoda's musical journey extends beyond Linkin Park; in 2004, he established a hip-hop-driven side project called Fort Minor. Moreover, he has made significant contributions as a producer for various artists such as Lupe Fiasco, Styles of Beyond, and the X-Ecutioners.

Shinoda's roots trace back to his formative years in Agoura Hills, where he, along with high school friends Brad Delson and Rob Bourdon, initiated the band Xero, which later evolved into Linkin Park. The addition of Joe Hahn, Dave Farrell, and Mark Wakefield followed. Subsequently, Chester Bennington joined the band in 1999, replacing Wakefield as the lead vocalist. Their collaboration led to a record deal with Warner Bros Records, marking the beginning of Linkin Park's rise to international prominence.
