Liza Koshy Biography
The American actress and YouTube celebrity Elizabeth Koshy was born in 1996 in Texas. Koshy grew up in the Houston area, where she perfected a bi-lingual mastery of both English and Spanish and initially sought to pursue a career in marketing. But in the mid 2010’s, Elizabeth launched a completely different career by posting various comedic videos on the Vine platform; by the time the platform disbanded, Koshy had an account with more than five million followers and it was clear that her life would be taking a different path.
Koshy switched to the YouTube platform where she continued to reach millions via her channel; she even interviewed then president Barack Obama in an attempt to encourage voters in the 2016 election. By 2017, Liza was among the fastest rising personalities on the channel, doubling her previous Vine followers to ten million and reaching over one billion views. When Hulu offered Elizabeth a key role on their new series, Freakish, she jumped at the chance and has since proven to be an equally competent actress.
In addition to Freakish, Liza Koshi has also appeared in the film Boo! A Madea Holloween, and hosted the live Golden Globe Awards preshow for 2017, bringing more than two and a half million viewers to Twitter for the broadcast. Koshi also hosts Total Request Live for the MTV network and advertises for a number of companies, including Beats Entertainment.
Liza Koshi is a celebrity personality on the rise and definitely one to watch in the coming years. She recently received a Streamy Award for Breakout Creator in 2016 and a Teen Choice Award for Choice Female Web Star in 2017.
