Superfruit Biography

The American comedy duo known as Superfruit was established via YouTube in 2013, by founding members and musicians Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi. Born one morning over a meal at a local iHOP, Superfruit became the creative outlet for Mitch and Scott, who had previously both planned to launch individuals channels on YouTube; instead, it became clear that a collaboration might work better.

The duo’s instincts were spot on. Today, Superfruit is today known for it's a capella covers, musical performances, and satirical vlogs. The popularity of the channel has led to appearances by Grassi and Hoying elsewhere—they have promoted the SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water for the MTV network; appeared on The Grace Helbig Show; and recorded their first musical EPs ( Future Friends, Part One and Two) and a feature length album, also titled Future Friends, which released in 2017. Superfruit has also collaborated with a number of other artists, including Betty Who, for whom they contributed vocals for the song “Beautiful.” They also appear in Todrick Hall’s “Black and White,” as featured artists.

Today, Superfruit is an act on the rise and one to watch. The duo’s YouTube channel currently boasts more than two million subscribers and over three hundred million video views.
