Bucky Lasek Biography
The professional skateboarder and rallycross driver Bucky Lasek was born Charles Lasek in 1972 in Baltimore, Maryland. Young Bucky began skateboarding before he was a teenager, and he quickly learned that he had a knack for the sport. With the support of a number of talent scouts, by the late 1980’s, Bucky had made his on screen debut in the video Public Domain, released in 1988.
Despite the waning of skateboarding’s popularity in the early 1990’s, Bucky continued to compete in the X Games up through the mid 1990’s, into the resurgence of the sport’s popularity, and he has continued his career as a skateboarder well into the new millennium. His contributions to the sport have branched out beyond live competitions; Bucky Lasek has been featured as a character in the first series of video games in the Tony Hawk series. He also made a small appearance in the film Haggard (2003), and appeared in a number of music videos, most notably for the song “Raise Your Glass” and other songs by his wife, the musical artist known as Pink.
In recent years, Bucky Lasek has begun competing as a rallycross driver, competing in the 2012 and 2013 Global Championships for Subaru Rally Team USA.
