Lil Keed Biography
Lil Keed is an American emcee and performer born in 1998. He was born and raised in Atlanta. He would begin rapping during his teenage years but did not make a serious effort until 2016. While Keed was popular in Atlanta, he did not begin to see signs of commercial success until two years later.
Releasing two mixtapes in 2018, Keed would score big features from rappers such as 21 Savage, Trippie Redd, and Lil Durk, among others. By this time he had signed a deal with Young Thug’s record label YSL records and 300, releasing his project Long Live Mexico the following year to critical acclaim. Performances at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami and Oakland helped Keed generate an even bigger buzz for 2020.
Keed’s breakout single “Nameless” would be certified Gold and peak at #42 on the R&B/Hip-Hop airplay chart for Billboard. Song with chart-topping rappers like Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Baby led to successful streaming numbers. His two major-label albums peaked at #26 and #41 on the Billboard 200 list, respectively, and Keed also secured the #11 and #26 spot on the R&B/Hip-Hop charts for those projects.
Recently, Keed was named an XXL Freshman for the 2020 class and released his sophomore album, Trapped in Cleveland 3, released shortly thereafter.
