The called Meat first burst onto the scene in the cult-classic rock-opera The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Then his music career took off like a bat out of hell and Meat Loaf became one of the best-selling acts of the 1970s before enjoying a re-emergence two decades later.
Meat Loaf moved to Los Angeles in 1967 and formed a group known as both Meat Loaf Soul and Popcorn Blizzard, eventually earning some minor renown opening concerts in support of the Who, the Stooges, and Ted.
In 1976, Meat Loaf handled vocal duties on one side of Ted Nugent's album Free-for-All. Soon, Meat Loaf then began work with lyricist Jim Steinman for a tour with the National Lampoon Road Show. Soon after, Steinman began composing a musical update of the Peter Pan story titled Never Land.
Incredibly, much of Never Land morphed into Meat Loaf's now-legendary album Bat Out of Hell. Produced by Todd Rundgren, the record spawned three Top 40 singles - "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad," "Paradise By the Dashboard Light," and "You Took the Words Right out of My Mouth" - on its way to becoming one of the best-selling albums of all time.
But the success proved too much and Meat Loaf and Steinman went separate ways.
Finally, in 1993, Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman reunited and results were once again stunning. Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell continued the original album's storyline, sound and feel. It sold over five million copies on the strength of songs like "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)."
Meat Loaf released his 7th studio album titled 'Welcome to the Neighborhood' in 1995. It was a huge success and went platinum with top 40 hits like "I'd Lie for You (And That's the Truth)" and "Not a Dry Eye in the House."
In 1998 Meat Loaf released the platinum selling The Very Best of Meat Loaf. In 2003, Meat Loaf released Couldn't Have Said It Better.
Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose was released in 2006, and the album debuted at #8 on the Billboard 200. We created this special form to get a clear understanding

In March 2008, Meat Loaf announced that he will return for his "Casa De Carne Tour".
