In a few short years and with only two major-label albums, Maroon 5 has become major players. The quartet now know as Maroon 5 first came together in junior high school as Kara's Flowers. For Maroon 5, though, things didn't really start happening until 2003 when "Harder to Breathe" and "This Love" became Top Ten singles.

Based on the success of these singles, Songs About Jane was certified platinum in 2004. The album's third single, "She Will Be Loved," also garnered radio and MTV airplay. Later that year 1.22.03.Acoustic appeared on shelves.

In 2005, Maroon 5 shocked the world when they won the Best New Artist Grammy Award. Later that same year, Maroon 5 released Live Friday the 13th. The band also supported the Rolling Stones for a string of dates in August and September 2005.
