Maroon 5 Biography

With guitar-heavy sounds, consistent themes of lost and unrequited love, and a sound that often changes from album to album, Maroon 5 continues to impress audiences with its contributions to music. Citing a variety of influences, including Prince, The Police, and Stevie Wonder Booking Agent & Management" href="https://www.bookingentertainment.com/artists/classic_rb/Stevie_Wonder.php"> Stevie Wonder, the members of Maroon 5 came together in junior high school. Forming the band Kara’s Flowers, they released one album in 1997. Band members Adam Levine, Mickey Madden, Jesse Carmichael, and Ryan Dusick would eventually add guitarist James Valentine to the group, now named Maroon 5, and embark on a new direction.

Maroon 5’s Songs About Jane (2004) gave audiences the singles “Harder to Breathe,” “She Will be Loved,” and “This is Love.” The band toured throughout 2003, 2004, and 2005, and Maroon 5 was recognized with a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2005. Ryan Dusick left the band in 2006, and Matt Flynn came on board as his replacement. The band’s next album, It Won’t Be Soon Before Long (2007) gave audiences “Makes Me Wonder,” the band’s first single to hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “Wake Up Call” and “Won’t Go Home Without You” were also successful singles off the album.

Since that time, Maroon 5 has released the additional albums: Hands All Over (2010), Overexposed (2012), and V (2014.) Notable singles between 2010 and 2016 include: “Maps,” “Animals,” “Sugar,” “This Summer,” “Don’t Wanna Know,” “Payphone,” “One More Night,” and “Moves Like Jagger,” which to date has been Maroon 5’s biggest hit, selling over eight million copies and ranking as one of the best-selling singles in music history.

Since their inception in 2002, Maroon 5 has sold over 10 million albums in the United States. The band continues to write, record, and tour. The band’s most recent singles—“Cold” (featuring Future Booking Agent & Management" href="https://www.bookingentertainment.com/artists/hiphop/booking-future.php"> Future) and “What Lovers Do” (featuring SZA)—arrived in 2017. Maroon 5 recently announced a return to the studio to work on their next and sixth studio album, scheduled for release in 2018.
